One of the “milestones” that Went has reached is holding and playing with a stuffed toy. This monkey has nice skinny legs (and a tail) for his hands to wrap around and lots of parts to chew on!

Today was Went’s first time “on” a playground.

This afternoon we drove back out to GO’s twin cousin’s birthday. It was being held at a Yogurt Place, and other than the giant owl that scared GO – we had a BLAST!
The theme was owls, and my incredible sister did a brilliant job. She is so creative and always comes up with the best parties. Everyone had a good time – and I’m always a fan of a place to eat!
Plus, Sister Sheep is such a gracious host – just like her Mummy, it’s always a pleasure to celebrate with them.

MONSTER CUPCAKES! That was our theme this year – Monster Cupcakes for GO! We held her party at a local Cupcake Shop: The Lemon Tree Bakery. They are my favorite cupcake shop in Atlanta (the buttercream icing means I’m not allergic, the perfect portions mean that I can give them to my kids AND the cost is in-line with both).
For her party, we had chicken nuggets, chips/salsa and juice boxes. Then each of the kids got to decorate two cupcakes – one for dessert and another to take home with them.
They had a BLAST!
GO was quite polite when opening her gifts and handed out goodies (a small goodie bag, a homemade heating pad and a box for their other cupcake).

Went is growing up. 😦 I know that is the point, but it still makes me a little sad! He’s started teething (nothing has poked through yet, but lots of drool and sore gums). And we are really working on tummy time to strengthen his neck and arm muscles.

GO had her birthday celebration at school on the same day as “Bear Hibernation Day”. I’m never one to pass up an opportunity to make theme snacks, so I tried a couple of options.

Making the Cupcakes
First – I attempted to bake a gummi bear inside her cupcakes (Tinkerbell, of course). That did NOT work…
Attempt #1: Gummi Bear INSIDE Cupcake (*FAIL*)
Second – We merely placed a gummi bear on TOP of the cupcake (next to Tinkerbell, natch). They aren’t “hibernating”, but at least they are bears!
Attempt #2: Gummi Bear ON TOP of Cupcake (*WIN*)
Third – Cookie sent a bunch of mini bags of Teddy Grahams to go along with the cupcakes for snack, so there were bears abound.
My little girly LOVED being line leader! Of course, now she’s ready to go up to the four year old class. 😉

For GO’s birthday, I wanted to make a unique party favor – something the kids could take home and actually use. So, with Cookie’s help, I made little heating pads.
I had all the felt left over from other projects – and I cut them down to a uniform size.

Then Cookie stitched them together, leaving a small opening.

I filled them with dry rice, using our snazzy homemade funnel.

GO found a kit at our local hobby shop, and wanted to make headbands for herself and Sister Sheep. Today, I let her pull out the supplies and we made headbands!
I’m not going to lie – a LOT of sparkly glitter went in the trash… And let’s not discuss the pink shiny spot in the carpet, okay? 😉

I had to stop by a friend’s house to get a tent for B10 to take this weekend, and I left the four Caterpillars in the car when I ran to the door. As it tends to do, my “quick” stop lasted about 10 minutes – as I chatted about scout stuff. Upon my return to the car, I was handed this note:
It’s a list of GO’s transgressions – “neatly” written by CW.
1. Noty words (naughty words: she said “shut up”)
2. Tring to wake Went (Trying to wake Went)
3. Shes demanding that shes incharge (She’s demanding that she’s in charge)
4. Shes telling on us for not makeing her incharge. (She’s telling on us for not making her in charge.)
LOVE! One of those things that I’ll cherish forever…
