I’m totally proud of how my Thanksgiving Dinner turned out. We had it on Friday, to accommodate everyone (I let GO be with her daddy on Thursday, and Doc works every Thanksgiving). Otto’s Mom and Sister came down, plus the Royal Family and my youngest brother and his fiance. In total, we had 10 adults and 8 children for the meal (all in an apartment!).
After lunch, Doc and Cookie took all the Caterpillars (except OPM – who had to march for Band in a Football Playoff game and Went – who needed to be able to eat) to the local park to run around on the playground for an hour and then have ice cream.
The Royal Family stayed through supper and played games, all in all a wonderful full day of friends and family and Thankfulness.
Plus, a pretty nice looking spread of food! 😉
(I have to thank Edelwiess and my Daddy, without their example and encouragement, I’m not sure I ever would have single-handedly tackled Thanksgiving dinner with confidence. I did, though, and it worked out beautifully. I can’t wait until next year!)

We put together the tree with GO a little over a week ago and tonight all the kids help put the decorations on the tree. They especially enjoyed playing with the penguins – even the big caterpillars! 😀

Even though we missed last year, we got back into the tradition of “Thanksgiving Camping” with the Royal Family. This year, we adjusted the timing and left on Sunday and came home on Wednesday (since we got the older girl Caterpillars – OPM and CAM – on Wednesday evening).
We went to one of our favorite State Parks and had a wonderful time hiking, playing, sitting around campfires and talking. I love nature! (Especially when my nature comes with a heated pop-up to sleep in!)

My Caterpillars love bacon – B10 and CW will eat it until it’s gone (no matter how much there is or what type…turkey or pork is all good with them).
GO on the other hand…she likes to caress her bacon, and slowly love on it until she eats it up. These pictures crack me up:

For my “big birthday surprise”, Otto’s sister came down and stayed with the Caterpillars (even Went), so Otto and I could have a date night out. We visited on of my favorite Italian restaurants and then did a little shopping, just the two of us. (Went even took a bottle – granted it took an hour to make it happen, and it was only 3 oz, but he took it!)
Otto’s sister also brought me a cookie cake and a *beautiful* gift of Starbucks Coffee! 😀
What a delightful way to spend my birthday, and it was all documented with my new iPhone! (Only because the iPhone was free…otherwise, I would still be on my dumbphone!) 😉

Me and my Girly!
GO’s Thanksgiving Feast at Preschool was today, and she and her friends did a beautiful job singing (and their parents did a pretty fine job on the food!). LOVE that I can celebrate these days with my cutie-pie!
My favorite moment is when she sang “10 Little Indians”, then she kept singing about “10 Little Crumbs” as she cleaned the table. I finally figured out she meant PILGRIMS! Tee Hee Hee!

GO and Went were on hand to help us “assemble the tree” tonight. We had to get it out of storage (along with the ornaments) and set it up, so decided to make an evening of it all.
