St. Patrick’s Day

KB’s actual due date has “arrived” – and I was able to get photos of my Littles in Green.  I love this holiday mostly for the clothes.  And the giggles of little caterpillars when they try to catch someone not wearing green.  (Or if you’re Went – just lots of giggles, because there is pinching and tickling going on!)

KGB Has Arrived

So many things to say – so long gone – but let me just come back and make my first blog post in a while about the birth of KGB.  This one is mostly pictures, with her birth story to come later.

Bottom line is that we are blessed.  She is the best baby – she sleeps almost all night long, waking only to nurse (and does that quietly).  Otto has been able to sleep for 3-4 hours at a stretch, and gets 6-8 hours of sleep a night (as much as he was getting before the baby was born).  She nurses well – she started within an hour of being born, and has never had an issue.  KGB is in size Newborn clothes and Newborn diapers (we are hoping to move to cloth diapers soon, but just can’t right now with my medical issues going on).  She was born with a full head of hair – and frankly, is just beautiful!  She has Went’s face/features and GO’s colouring – she is going to be a perfect mix of the two and ties our family together.

We love her, all of us.  B10 and CW have taken to walking her around and singing to her.  Went likes to pat her head and say “baby”, and brings her toys.  GO is a little mummy, and can’t stand to hear her cry.  She wants to hold her baby sister and snuggle.

And Otto – he’s been our rock.  He’s the only one who can swaddle her right.  He walks her on those rare occasions when she is crying and tells her all about God and her siblings and how much we love her.  He has changed almost all of her diapers, and been at her doctor’s appointments and protected both her and I from everything he can.  He is my hero.

Our family is finally complete.

Family Time

Otto and I were able to take the Caterpillars out on Saturday, with the intention of making sure that GO and Went were able to do the Home Depot woodworking craft (one of their favorite times of the month) and then to have lunch at the local Toddler Playground.  It was also a good evening – Bruster’s was giving out free ice cream cones to anyone in pajamas, so of course we had to head there for dessert.

New babies are always hard for a family, and anytime we can do things for the older Caterpillars, it makes me feel happy inside.  I’m so glad that Otto was able to be with us.
