Happy Halloween

We celebrated all day long…sort of.

FIRE! (I love a nice warm fire!)

We managed to have a small fire in the fireplace (hey – it was COLD!).

Napping to get ready for the "big night"...

Plus, GO took a nice nap (while wearing her pumpkin shirt and a Two Lollidots Bow).

Even a Jedi likes Starbucks

B10 had a meeting, so it was a more subdued “Trick or Treating” night.  We headed out to Target, where GO had a baby-sized Pumpkin Spice Smoothie and a brownie bite (plus popcorn).

Using "The Force" to summon chicken nuggets.

Then we stopped for dinner at  Chick-fil-a, where she did Jedi Mind Tricks on the staff in order to get a “Eat More Chicken” Pez Dispenser (okay, not really, but she was a cute Jedi!).

Happy Halloween!

Trunk or Treat

This year, we decided to actually HAVE a trunk at our church’s annual “Trunk or Treat”.  But, being weird, a basic Halloween Trunk just wasn’t going to cut it.  Not even an elaborate Halloween Trunk would cut it.

Oh no, we were going to be REMEMBERED!  I give you:

Queen and I at the "Trunk or Treat"

When it doubt, just hand out peppermint candy canes and shout “Merry Christmas” at all the passing children.

If nothing else, I got a good laugh at the children staring at us like we were crazy.

BooSheep and the Little Sheeps came out and hung out with us Caterpillars.  They even stayed to eat a little dinner, before filling their bags with candy!  🙂

I love this type of Halloween tradition, it’s safe and fun, plus the Caterpillars get to hang out with their friends (and I get to hang out with mine)!

Fall Festival at GO’s Preschool

Woo Hoo!  It’s Fall Festival Time!  This year, it fell on BooSheep’s Birthday!  (So we brought Starbucks for breakfast, YAY!)

The kids had a blast, and I love how GO and Sister Sheep were buddies.  BooSheep and I always try to do the hayride with our kids, which is pretty awesome.

I LOVE my daughter’s preschool!

It’s the End of Orange and Black Around Here…

Okay, not the very end, but GO RARELY wears orange, so when she insisted on this particular outfit, I realized I might not get many chances to photograph these colours for almost a year.

I love how she enjoys twirling her “princess” (that is what she calls any dress or skirt).  She’s not an overly girly-girl, but she does love the tutu-like-skirts!

French Braid

Okay, so this is not the prettiest French braid, but in my defense…

1) I’ve never been taught how to French braid.

2) This was my first attempt ever at French braiding.

3) GO’s a DARN wiggly 2 year old!

So, I’m quite proud of the outcome.  At the very least, it will hopefully lead to fewer tangles in the morning, with not as much pulling on her scalp as she sleeps.

And I’m sure I’ll eventually get better!  😉

WAM Children’s Sabbath

This Sunday was Children’s Sabbath – our first, since there isn’t such a thing in the Baptist Church (or at least none of the Baptist Churches I ever attended).  I work with the kids during Wednesday Night WAM (Worship/Art/Music), and helped them prepare their 15 minute “program” for the service.  They sang 5 songs and did some speaking and generally did an INCREDIBLE job.

B10 is one of the leaders for the younger choir, so he wasn’t onstage this time.  He’s done a great job bonding with the K-2 grade kids (all girls) and bringing bugs and geckos each week.

Overall, I LOVE these kids and I’m so proud of each and every one of them.  I can’t wait to see how the WAM Christmas comes together!
