Fun and Free

We don’t usually have GO on the first weekend of the month, but since Saturday was her last Soccer game (and party/trophy time), she was with Mummy and Papa.  After that fun, we headed to the Home Depot so she and CW could make the craft project.

Low and behold there was a Car Show going on!  It was awesome!  CW and GO were able to make airplanes – AND they each received a goodie bag (for Halloween) AND a very nice LEGO set (37 piece Rescue Sea Plane)!  Then they were able to visit with the local firefighters and police (who brought trucks/cars).  I think CW’s favorite part was being able to break a board at one of the local Karate Studio’s booth.

It was a fun and it was free – a big deal for us right now.  Living on a budget isn’t fun (I don’t care what Dave Ramsey says – he’s a nerd).  I have looked for things like this, to help us enjoy this time in our lives (and especially the lives of the Caterpillars).  Happening upon an even bigger event simply made the day that much better.

I am grateful to Home Depot for their ongoing Kid Weekend projects.  I love the fact that CW is pretty confident in using a hammer and nails and working with instructions.  I also love that GO is learning how to feel comfortable with tools and directions, and won’t be intimidated by such things as she gets older.  It’s a win-win for me.
