Today was GO’s Easter Egg Hunt at school. This is one of those times when I love being a Room Mum, so I can be the one to hide the eggs (and I use the term “hide” loosely – for 3 year olds you “scatter” the Easter Eggs about). The only hard part is that I’m the one who had to TAKE their Easter Baskets and count eggs after they picked them up! (We made sure each kid went home with the same number of eggs, and I tried to divide them pretty evenly with what size/prize they each had.)
To start with, however, when the parents arrived, the kids sat in a circle and went through the Resurrection Eggs. It was so cool to hear a group of 2 and 3 year olds tell the entire Easter Story, with very little help from their teachers. Each student made their own set of eggs to bring home with them, and practice/remind them off this important Biblical Story.
Then we herded the kids outside, and let them loose on the field of scattered eggs (180 of them). It was hilarious to watch the try to decide which ones they wanted. GO found a pair of Bunny Ears when she picked out her basket, and wore them for the entire hunt. Quite a feat, even if the hunt only lasted 4 minutes.
After the hunt, we had picnic lunches. We won’t discuss these pictures – taken by Boo Sheep, who kindly opened my child’s lunch AND took pictures of her eating it, yet never seemed to notice that GO had bypassed the chicken nuggets and was simply licking the filling out of the double stuffed Oreos. GO did NOT like it when I sat down and took the rest of her cookies away.
Wonderful last day of school before Spring Break!

Um, no. The only picture I took with YOUR camera was the one of you and GO…which means YOU took the lunch picture, not I. Blame game fail. But I still love you. 🙂 Boo
