What I Love Wednesday

What I Love Wednesday – (for other “WILW” posts visit Jamie at This Kind of Love).

Oh, what do I love???  It hasn’t been easy to look on the bright side this week, so taking a moment to think about what I love is good for me.  🙂

This week I am loving food.  My top few restaurants/bakeries:

1) The Lemon Tree Bakery – holy cow, this place is AMAZING!  They make everything by hand, and the buttercream frosting is to die for.  My favorite cupcake is the Lemon Raspberry, but they are all delicious.  Plus, the people who run The Lemon Tree are just about the nicest people on the face of the planet.  I have had a chance to talk to them more than once, and I cannot say enough about their work ethic, their people skills, their customer service and their general “niceness”.  They are truly here to serve the community, and it’s a joy to be able to patronize such establishments.

2) Nagano’s – my favorite Japanese Steakhouse for over 15 years.  This is the one place in America that I can walk in, sit down and have food brought to me without asking.  And it’s cooked perfectly.  (They even know to “hold the dressing”.)  I love Japanese food, anyway, but this is my “home”.

3) Krystal – I don’t know what to say to people who don’t like the tiny little greasy burger.  I feel sorry for you.  I do.

4) Provino’s – They serve meat ravioli without cheese.  Since ravioli is my favorite type of pasta, and this is the only place I can get it – it was an easy choice for the list!

5) Popeye’s – it must be the Cajun in me, but no other fast food chicken tastes this good.  And the red beans and rice make it a PERFECT meal!

6) Finally, Panda Express – Orange Chicken and white rice… YUM!

What’s your favorite restaurants?

Finding it ridiculously ironic that everything New Orleans seems to follow me in the last six months … 😛 Not exactly HAPPY about it today, but overall I can smile when I think about it. 🙂 Ah, remind me to make you some Japanese food some time. That is DEFINITELY in my blood! (Yep, literally.) 😀

Maybe I should have stopped reading this post when I saw the word ‘food’ – I am thankful there are no longer four obnoxious wisdom teeth causing pain in my jaw, but DARN am I hungry! 😉

Glad to see you thinking of happy things – even SIMPLE happy things – in the midst of a not-so-happy last several months. I love you and am praying for you as always. ❤ always, your little sister

  3. I love that you choose to look on the bright side. Too many of us don’t. Have I told you lately how much I admire you? And that I’m glad you’re my friend. You really do inspire me.
