GO vs the Doctor – The 2 Year Check-Up

Hubby worked from home today, which was sort of confusing for the Caterpillars – but at least he was able to come to lunch with us, even if he couldn’t “play” with them.

Hubby & GO

Cookie came along, and we headed for CiCi’s Pizza, before the “dreaded 2 Year Check-Up”.  Hubby and I really wanted to get some calories into GO – but she barely ate.

Eating at CiCi's Pizza

B10 and his salad (before the 6 pieces of pizza)

CW insisting on sitting right smack dab in-between Cookie and Hubby.

By the time I finished eating it was getting late, so I headed to our family doctor for her 2:30 appt time.

GO waiting in the Doctor's Waiting Room.

Now, I ADORE our doctor – absolutely love him and our PA, but today was rough.  We arrived on time, and weren’t taken back to a room for 20 minutes.  THEN we had to wait until 4 pm before the doctor made it to our room.

Luckily, I’m a “Mum of Many Talents” and she was pretty well entertained.

GO in the Room

First Distraction: "AAAAAHHHHH" Stick

Second Distraction: Latex Medical Glove

Third Distraction: Spinning Ourself on the Doctor's Stool (she wouldn't let me touch her)

Fourth Distraction: Latex Glove gets a Face and becomes HANDY-MAN!

By the time the Doctor arrived, however, she was done.  She let him check her out, screamed as she got her flu shot, then sobbed and yelled “BYE BYE, THANK YOU, BYE BYE, THANK YOU, BYE BYE!” until we left the Doctor’s office.

The poor nurses were torn between feeling bad for her and laughing hysterically.

Here’s her stats:

19 lbs, almost (almost…the nurse actually said “19 lbs…almost”)

30.5 inches tall

Doctor’s advice?  We wait until we see the specialist in May and go from there.  And quickly get involved in the University of Washington study for her OI.

Woohoo! Pack on the pounds, Baby Girl! 😀 Progress. Slow, but progress. I am grateful for every OUNCE she gains at this point … I THOUGHT she looked a little taller lately! 30.5 … As little as she is, I still have a REALLY hard time believing she is almost TWO. SO cute how she made the nurses laugh/feel sorry for her at the same time … Love it! Love you, my Kaleidoscope! ❤ M

Yeah! Maybe one or two more of Daddy Butterflies’ pounds can make it to Baby Butterfly, too. What WILL the world look like in the car when she can finally see where she is going? I think she will miss the Brothers’ faces … love you all …
