D-Group Girls & the Christmas Party

Today was my D-Group Girls (Tau Delta Mu) Christmas Party.  It was an all day affair, beginning early with the girls arriving between 9 and 9:30 am.  We (Cookie and I – she came over to help with the baking) had a small breakfast waiting and the girls started mixing cookie dough.

It was pretty awesome to watch the girls make cookies from scratch – they were in pairs and each made a double batch, so there was LOTS of dough.  We let it sit in the fridge for a bit, while we played a board game, before rolling and cutting out cookies.  Queen and Princess came over to help and to meet the girls (they are going to teach them knitting in January).

Cookie rotated the cookies in and out of the oven, and a couple of girls worked on mixing the icing.  We left the house at noon, heading to Wendy’s for lunch.  From there, we quickly went to the movies – to see TANGLED!

CUTE MOVIE!  I cannot wait to take B10 and CW to see this movie, I highly recommend this Disney movie for boys and girls – it’s not your average “Princess” movie.  Pascal the Chameleon and Maximus the Horse are great characters, it’s as much a “boy” movie as a “girl” movie.

After Tangled, we headed back to the house to ice cookies and place them in bags to deliver.  Four of the girls came with me to deliver a batch to our local Fire Station, and everyone was able to take a couple of cookies home with them.

The last girls went home at 6 pm, it was one of the best days I’ve had in so long – and it was spent with wonderful girls!  (A special thank you to Queen, Princess and Cookie for helping me today!)
